This June, Celebrate Shōchū
The Bazaar New York
Join The Bazaar New York as we celebrate Shōchū, an intensely artisanal Japanese spirit, with daily specials and an exclusive dinner.
Shōchū—distilled liquor from rice, sweet potatoes, barley, and more—is less well-known than Sake outside of Japan, but is incredibly popular to drink with meals. It’s seen a boom in the last two decades in Japan, and we’re proud to highlight the diversity of this storied spirit with an extensive list of dynamic producers.
Special Shōchū Cocktails
June 1 - June 30
Throughout June, join us at The Bazaar by José Andrés or The Bazaar Bar to experience a variety of Shōchū cocktails and paired bites.
Sample our ever popular Divine Wind, made with chrysanthemum mizu shōchū, magdala, clarified lime, butterfly pea, and singani, or sip on the Chuhai, including colorful tinsei shochu, honeydew, lemongrass, soda, just in time for the warmer weather.
Enhance the flavors of each cocktail by enjoying them alongside curated culinary delights, such as our Ibérico Tonkatsu, a fried Ibérico pork chop, served with charred cabbage and miso escabeche.
